One of the most amazing experiences. We only saw one of the Bunker in the chain, but was brilliant. Everything was well done from the screens in the lookout to the restoration and audio. I believe these kind of experiences should be promoted by the Dutch Tourism board
A well preserved example of a German WWII fortification built along the Atlantic coast. Our guide Andre (unpaid docent, speaks perfect English) made the tour come alive by relating stories of how he came here as a child. The guided tour was mostly flat but the attached museum (optional, included in tour price) requires steep steps and ladders to fully experience.
An interesting side note is how part of the facility is used for sheltering bats and how the staff goes to great lengths to ensure their safety and comfort.
Really nice small museum. Take the opportunity of the bunkerdag and you can enjoy multiple bunkers for one single ticket.
Super cool to see. Guide was informative and really well spoken English. Great with the children as well. Take some warm clothing as it gets really cold under ground inside the bunkers
Nice visit with a guide and after with an audioguide well described.
The people who work there and do the tour really bring the place to life. It is interesting to hear how the bunkers were used and see, feel and experience the place. The museum itself was an unexpected treasure trove of historical artifacts and devices used and setup as if the command centre was still in use. Really interesting.
Interesting to see this structure but would have loved a bit more storytelling and perspective of what really happened
With Dutch, German and English Audioguide.
